Just how the former most highly paid player in the NFL went from riches to rubble so quickly can found in Rick Reilly’s article “Mike Vick went bankrupt sitting in prison. How did that happen?

His column highlights some of the most expensive investments and purchases Vick made, both before and after he began his sentencing.

But the list doesn’t end there.

Kriegel Does the Run Down

Salary Cap Driving Force Behind Matt Holliday Trade

Fans of the 07’ World Series Colorado Rockies saw their bloody-chinned hero leave Colorado for Oakland this month.  Left fielder Matt Holliday will be added to the Oakland Athletics roster while the Rockies acquire starting pitcher Greg Smith, closing pitcher Huston Street and outfielder Carlos Gonzalez.

Rocky Mountain News sports columnist Dave Krieger sites the Major League Baseball system as the major reason behind this inevitable trade.

Cutler Inspires Young Fans Everywhere

The Denver Broncos quarterback, Jay Cutler, struggled in his 2007 season.  Following that disappointing year, Cutler learned that the 35 pounds he’d dropped during the season were a result of the diabetes he was diagnosed with.

Rick Reilly’s article “Jay Cutler didn’t plan on being a role model.  Now he has to be,” is an article of inspiring messages for children everywhere who are stricken with diabetes but now have hope.  Cutler has helped many kids realize that they can keep their dreams of playing football alive, while living with the disease.

Nuggets Trade Iverson; Billups, McDyess Return to Colorado

The Denver Nuggets organization announced today they’d had reached a trade agreement with the Detriot Pistons organization that sends Allen Iverson to Detroit for Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess and Cheikh Samb.

The Official Website of the Denver Nuggets announced the trade early this afternoon.

Detroit began the 2008-2009 season 2-0, with Billups averaging 12.5 points per game and 7.5 assists per game.  McDyess averaged 7.0 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game, according to the Official Website of the Denver Nuggets’ article “Nuggets acquire Billups, McDyess and Samb.”  In the past, McDyess has expressed that he has no desire to play anywhere but Detroit, so his career back in Denver may be short lived.
